Brickwork
Bill Milhiem of Milhiem Masonry works on the Melville Mausoleum brick in December. At top left, he adjust scaffolding tarps to protect his work from the weather. At top right, he places a salvaged stone at the peak of the north side of the structure. Below left, he bricks up the entrance to the tomb. Over the years people trying to break into the mausoleum damaged the stone around the door. Below right, Milhiem selects bricks to block the doorway. The bricks were salvaged when the mausoleum was damaged by a large branch from a nearby oak tree in 2004.
